First Tasks First™
First Tasks First™
Unlike simplistic task managers, or labor intensive approaches like Getting Things Done (GTD), First Tasks First™ implements the concepts taught in Covey's “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, one of the most popular personal effectiveness training concepts. His books have sold many millions of copies, and the famous Franklin-Covey Institute* continues in this fine tradition with their paper planners - but a computer can do more.
First Tasks First™ is elegant in it's simplicity, while being powerful by keeping you on top of what you need to accomplish. Tasks are created with an assigned due date, and a priority. When a task hits a user defined threshold for being urgent - it is due in a defined number of days - it automatically shows up in the Urgent list. If a task hits a user defined threshold for priority, it automatically shows up in the Important list. If both time and priority thresholds are hit, the tasks automatically show up in Urgent AND Important list. If neither urgent or important, then the task shows up in the Neither list. Completed tasks all show up in the completed task list, and can be printed, output to a text file, or deleted.
Entry consists of the task, click a priority button, and pick a date from the date popup. Task description is optional. That's it - everything is managed automatically from then on. Clicking on any task in any list will bring it back up in the edit panel.
* NOTE: This product is in no way connected with Stephen Covey or the Franklin-Covey Institute.
